The award ceremony, in which the Seddülbahir Fortress received the Special Jury Award, was held in Ankara as part of the biennial awards presented by the Turkish Association of Independent Architects (TürkSMD).

In the 2023–2024 16th Architecture Awards, the jury was chaired by Prof. Dr. Namık Erkal, with members Sinan Erbuğ, Orçun Ersan, Dr. Heves Beşeli Özkoç, Nevzat Sayın, Semra Teber Yener, Ekin Çoban Turhan, and Gül Güven.
At the award ceremony held on October 4 at the Ankara Sheraton Hotel, winners were announced in five categories: Grand Award, Press & Media Award, Contribution to Architecture Award, Building Award, and Special Jury Award.
