KOOP was founded in 2013 by Y. Burak Dolu, providing opportunities to work collectively with professionals and different offices in urban design, architecture, restoration, construction, graphic design, museology and many other fields.
Projects and construction works in many areas such as historical building restoration and transformation, museum and exhibition design, cultural centers, social centers, city squares, residences, offices and restaurants are carried out by teams from different disciplines in each area. For each project, KOOP produces solutions by creating cooperative working environments with individuals and companies and various non-governmental organizations in many fields such as city planning, urban design, conservation, engineering, graphic design, museology, landscape architecture, interior architecture, sustainability.
KOOP generally works on topics such as old and new buildings and public spaces, transformation of existing buildings, museums in historical environments. Trying to understand the ‘place’ and the memory it is in, KOOP tries to make the memory visible and memorable with today’s productions and to make simple contributions.
KOOP’s works has been featured in many exhibitions and publications in Turkey and around the world, and received many awards.
For each project, based on its complexity and specific requirements, KOOP assembles teams from various disciplines, which refers to as co-operatives. These teams may consist of companies, individuals, or organizations from different fields of engineering, art, and design. Additionally, depending on the project’s scope, KOOP establishes scientific advisory boards for each project.
