KOOP Architects-Designed Digital Mining Museum Opens at Gümüşhane University.

The Digital Mining Museum, designed by KOOP Architects and established within Gümüşhane University, has officially opened its doors to visitors on the second floor of the Dr. Mustafa Çalık Congress and Culture Center. Comprising 17 thematic sections, the museum offers an interactive experience of the history of mining through digital technologies.
The exhibition showcases Gümüşhane’s mining heritage from the Ottoman era to the present day, including accounts by travelers, mineral and ore samples, and examples of traditional handicrafts. Visitors can mint commemorative coins and take digital photographs wearing historical miner outfits.
Curated by KOOP Architects, the exhibition design incorporates interactive content, rich visuals, and immersive spatial elements to create an environment that is both educational and enjoyable. The museum especially appeals to younger audiences with its dynamic and accessible educational spaces.
Presenting Gümüşhane’s mining culture through a contemporary design approach, the Digital Mining Museum aims to contribute to the preservation of cultural heritage while enhancing the city’s tourism potential.
