Award Ceremony Held in Ankara for the Ministry of Diplomatic Martyrs Memorial Design Competition

KOOP Architecture was awarded an equivalent first prize in the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs Martyrs Memorial and Commemorative Space Design Competition” organized by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality. The competition aimed to honor the memory of diplomats who were martyred while on duty abroad from 1973 to the present and to leave a lasting mark on the collective memory of society.
The symposium and award ceremony took place on May 30, 2025, at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Conference Hall, attended by ABB President Mansur Yavaş, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ambassadors, relatives of the martyrs, and many other guests. The awards were presented by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş.
As KOOP Architecture, in our proposed project, we prioritized the themes of peace, collective memory, and social responsibility; aiming to transform these values into a meaningful architectural expression that anchors the memory of losses in time and place, harmonizing with nature.
